Dylan Butler Perry Suicide, Suspected Iowa school shooter died from self-inflicted gunshot injuries
Dylan Butler Tragedy – The individual linked to the Perry High School incident has been identified as senior Dylan Butler. Reports suggest that the suspected shooter, Dylan Butler, who harmed three individuals, including the principal, succumbed to self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
In a distressing event at an Iowa school, three people, including Principal Dan Marburger, sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the hospital. Principal Marburger is currently undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, among the injured, a 6th-grade boy tragically lost his life.
The incident unfolded on a Thursday morning at an Iowa school located approximately 25 miles northwest of Des Moines, just before the start of the school day during a breakfast program.
This morning at Perry High School, a 15-year-old student reportedly sustained minor injuries from a bullet, with grazes to the back and arm. Initial reports of a potential active shooter surfaced around 7:40 a.m. local time. By 8:25 a.m., the middle school was declared safe, with the high school following suit by 8:27 a.m.
Due to the situation, the elementary school underwent evacuation and dismissal, completing the process by 8:32 a.m. Those affected at Perry High School are being transported to MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, as confirmed by a hospital spokesperson. The exact number of patients going to the facility is currently unknown.
Ambulances and helicopters from the hospital have been dispatched to the scene, and further details are awaited. Scenes near the school at 1200 18th Street show police and Iowa State Troopers cordoning off surrounding streets.
Several ambulances have been observed entering and departing from the school. Emotional reunions between some students and their parents are taking place in the vicinity of the high school.
The alleged shooter, identified as Butler, reportedly had a TikTok account under the username “tooktoomuch.” His last post featured a video inside a bathroom stall with a duffel bag on the ground, accompanied by the words “Now we wait” and the song “Stray Bullets” playing.
Authorities are examining these digital assets. The TikTok account, now deleted, had an avatar depicting an anime girl and a biography showcasing the rainbow flag, identifying as a “DJ.”
The family will release an obituary and funeral arrangements for Dylan Butler.
