Indiana’s 2nd congressional district representative Jackie Walorski, 58, died in an accident in Elkhart County.

Born on August 17, 1963, the politician has been the U.S. Representative for Indiana’s 2nd congressional district since 2013. She belongs to the Republican Party and served as the 21st district’s representative in Indiana’s House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010.

Walorski won the Republican primary for Indiana’s 2nd congressional district in 2010, but Democratic incumbent Joe Donnelly narrowly defeated him in the general election. Moreover, Walorski won the position in 2012 after Donnelly left it to run for the U.S. Senate.

U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski died in a car crash this afternoon at 12:32 P.M. near Nappanee in Elkhart County on S.R. 19 south of S.R. 119.

According to the reports, she and two other people, Zachery Potts and Emma Thompson are killed in the crash. The driver of the vehicle traveling southbound on State Road 19 was also killed, as did two of the passengers. The vehicle was traveling northbound.

Twitter is now flooded with the news of her demise and sending condolences to her family and friends to stay strong in her loss.

Walorski was hitched to Dean Swihart, a Mishawaka teacher, in 1995. She attended South Gate Church, a South Bend Assemblies of God megachurch, and lived in Jimtown, an unincorporated suburb west of Elkhart.

Walorski was raised in the city’s Gilmer Park neighborhood with her two elder brothers after being born in South Bend, Indiana.

The politician belonged to a middle-class family where her mother, Martha C., worked as a meat cutter at a local grocery store. In contrast, her father, Raymond B. Walorski, worked as a firefighter and owned an appliance store.

Indiana’s representative had polish and German ancestry.

She went to Hay Elementary School when she was younger and graduated from Riley High School in 1981. She next attended Liberty Baptist College from 1981 to 1983 before earning her B.A. in communications and public administration in 1985 from Taylor University.
