Kaisha Birch, aged 39, has been accused of committing murder at the Bloom Room Restaurant, involving the shooting of Maya Jennifer Simmons.
Maya Jennifer Simmons lost her life in a tragic incident on July 28, 2023. She was just 30 years old when a fatal shooting occurred outside the Bloom Room Restaurant in North Charleston, South Carolina. The North Charleston Police Department swiftly responded to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting at around 2:15 a.m. Sadly, they found Maya Jennifer Simmons lying on the ground with gunshot wounds.
First responders and individuals at the scene worked tirelessly, even administering CPR to Simmons. Shortly after their efforts, the responsibility for continuing life-saving measures was handed over to the emergency medical services (EMS). Tragically, despite all the attempts to save her, Simmons passed away in the early hours of that fateful morning at a hospital.
The North Charleston Police Department has been diligently investigating this shooting incident. Recently, they made an arrest in connection with Maya Jennifer Simmons’ death. Kaisha Simmons Birch, a 39-year-old woman, has been taken into custody. She turned herself in to the authorities and was subsequently booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. Kaisha Simmons Birch faces charges of Manslaughter and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During a Violent Crime in relation to this tragic event.
