Police are investigating an unfortunate incident that occurred on New Year’s Day at a train station in New York City. A Georgetown University student, Matteo Sachman, lost his life after an attack on a subway platform in the Bronx. The incident took place around 9 p.m. at 182nd Street and Grand Concourse in the Fordham Heights section.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a 29-year-old man, who was waiting for the train, was stabbed in the neck by an assailant on the southbound D train platform. Emergency services quickly responded, and Matteo was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead hours later.
