MRandom News Mourns the Passing of 79-Year-Old Mercedes Tidwell â Details on the Tragic Accident On Sunday, tragedy struck as a three-car collision claimed the life of 79-year-old Mercedes Tidwell in north Houston, as reported by the Houston police.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of 3601 Tidwell Rd. and Eastex Highway. Driving a tan Honda Accord southbound on Eastex Highway, the elderly woman attempted a U-turn, losing control of her speed. The Honda collided with a maroon Toyota Tacoma traveling east on Tidwell Road, went airborne, overturned, and ultimately crashed into a black Mercedes Benz also heading east on Tidwell.
Regrettably, the Houston Fire Department pronounced Mercedes Tidwell dead at the scene. The Harris County Forensic Science Institute is currently working to identify the deceased woman. The other involved driver emerged unharmed, and authorities continue their investigation into the tragic accident.
