What Was Amitabh Choudhary Death Cause? Veteran Cricket Administrator Passed Away At 62

Amitabh Choudhary led Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) throughout his tenure as chairman.

In July of 2022, he officially stepped down from his position. According to the laws governing appointments, the term of office for the JPSC chairman is for three years or until the candidate reaches the age of 62, whichever comes first.

On the 6th of July 2022, Choudhary reached the age of 62 years old. The employees and authorities of JPSC bade him farewell the day before, which was the day before that. Choudhary, a seasoned administrator of cricket who had previously served in the IPS, held the position for twenty months.

Who Was Amitabh Choudhary?

During his time as chairman of the JPSC, Amitabh Choudhary was the subject of several allegations that he had committed irregularities in the administration of the 7th Jharkhand Public Services Commission (JPSC) Civil Services Examination.

The opposition BJP made these allegations. The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has even brought up the problems in the house. Before becoming the Chairman of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Choudhary served as the President of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA).

Choudhary, serving as acting BCCI secretary during the 2019 JSCA elections, could not run for office. This was due to the cooling-off period clause that the Supreme Court imposed in response to the suggestions that were offered forward by the Lodha committee to improve the operations of the BCCI. After that, new office bearers led by an ex-India captain named Sourav Ganguly assumed the role of BCCI administrator, leaving Choudhary without a job.

Amitabh Choudhary, who had previously served as the acting secretary for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), passed suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

His passing occurred in the Sentevita Hospital in his birthplace of Ranchi. It is speculated that the deceased suffered a cardiac attack before passing away. He was found to have died away there. The BCCI is mourning his passing since he played a vital role in the organization’s management.

After suffering a severe heart attack, Amitabh was taken to the hospital. According to many sources, he had had a morning bath, prayed, and then strolled on the grass outside his home when he suddenly could not stand. He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after he arrived there.

Amitabh Choudhary, who had previously served in the Indian Police Service, was a prominent figure in the world of sports, particularly cricket. In 2002, he was accepted into the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), making him a member of the organization. In 2005, he won a competition to become the Jharkhand State Cricket Association president. His opponent was the deputy chief minister at the time, Sudesh Mahto.

Between 2005 and 2009, he was the manager of the Indian national team. In addition to that, he filled in as the acting secretary of the BCCI. In 2013, he quit his work voluntarily and immediately entered politics. As a candidate for the JVM, he ran for the parliamentary election for the Ranchi seat. However, he was ultimately unsuccessful.

After completing his education and earning a degree in engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 1985, he began his career. He joined the Indian Police Service. Choudhary was originally from Bihar.

Amitabh Choudhary was married to an IPS officer, Nirmala Kaur.

The couple gained public attention in 2010 when Nirmala Kaur made allegations that her husband, Amitabh Choudhary, a Special Secretary in the state Home department, had repeatedly roughed her up, assaulted her, and tortured her. She filed a complaint to the woman’s police station in Ranchi. She also emailed a copy of the complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police in Ranchi, Praveen Kumar Singh.

Choudhary, an IPS officer who graduated in 1986 and is credited for establishing the Jharkhand Cricket Association and confronting the Naxals in Palamau, has stated that he is unaware of her accusation. Choudhary is also recognized for taking on the Naxals in Palamau.

In a related development, Kaur had only just moved out of the official mansion of Choudhary and had begun residing in a leased flat.
