The pursuit initiated in Whitfield County with Georgia State Patrol troopers and extended into Sandy Springs in northern Fulton County. In Sandy Springs, the suspect collided with a pole before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have not disclosed the reason for the chase, but a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies is in progress to apprehend the individual. Police state that the suspect is not believed to be armed. A section of Northside Drive, from Mount Vernon Highway to Powers Ferry Road, is temporarily closed while Georgia Power works to replace the damaged pole and lines.
