Why Did Eddie Ray Routh Shoot Chris?

Eddie Ray Routh shoots Chris Kyle and Chris’ friend Chad Littlefield at a firing range. He shoots multiple times, taking the life of two innocent on 2 February 2013.

Eddie testified on 22 June 2013, stating, “I shot them because they wouldn’t talk to me. I was just riding in the back seat of the truck and nobody would talk to me.”

“They were just taking me to the range so I shot them. I feel bad about it, but they wouldn’t talk to me. I’m sure they’ve forgiven me.”

A former Marine, Routh, had been struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for years and suffered from a serious mental illness. He previously mentioned to his forensic psychologist that his coworkers were cannibals planning to eat him.

As for Kyle, he was helping the veterans with mental health issues and combat-related stress after retiring from the military. He and Littlefield took Eddie out upon being asked for help by the former marine’s mother.

The defendant’s lawyer at the time argued that he was facing extreme mental distress and was convinced those two would turn against him.

Where Is Eddie Ray Routh Now?

Eddie Ray Routh faces life in prison with no parole after killing two innocent respectable figures. He was 25 years of age at that time with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

He is still now believed to be in prison, facing his sentences after the jury found him guilty of the crime. Routh got incarcerated at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Ramsey Unit.

Before that, in early 2013, he was charged with two capital murders and held on for $3 million bail. The former marine then faced a trial that began on 5 May 2014, and on 24 February 2015, the jury sentenced him to jail.

Killer Eddie Ray Routh Death Or Alive Today

Killer Eddie Ray Routh seems alive today, as no records of his death are found yet. He is spending his life in prison after getting convicted of the crime he committed in 2013.

Also, he does not seem to have a wife or children at the moment. Routh family has lived a low-profile life after a trial and the incidents.

As Eddie Ray is facing life imprisonment with no parole, there is no possibility of him getting out.
