Joan Crawford was the first wife of famed Los Angeles Dodgers baseball announcer Vin Scully. The couple tied the knot on February 15, 1958.

However, Joan died of an accidental medical overdose on January 26, 1972, at the age of 35. They had been married for more than 15 years when she died.

Vin Scully married Sandra Hunt in 1972, the year Joan Crawford passed away. The couple exchanged vows on November 10, 1973. He had four children, two stepchildren, sixteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren altogether.

According to the coroner’s findings, Joan accidentally overdosed on medication that was intended to assist her recovery from a bad cold and bronchitis. Sadly, their eldest son passed away in a helicopter crash at the age of 33 while at work.

Vin Scully and his ex-wife Joan Crawford had three children together whose names are Michael Allen Scully, Kevin Scully, and Erin Scully. He was extremely upset about his wife’s passing.

He has hardly brought up Joan’s passing. Michael Allen Scully, Scully’s oldest son, tragically perished in a helicopter mishap at age 33 while employed for ARCO Transportation.

Scully, a Roman Catholic, has stated in numerous interviews that his religious convictions helped him get back to work and lessen the weight from losing his son and ex-wife, despite the fact that their deaths still haunt him.
