Greg Smith, a graduate of Bromsgrove School and the University of Birmingham, has built an impressive career in design and marketing, accompanied by a strong dedication to community service.

From 2008 to 2019, Smith served as a trustee of Riverside Studios, actively contributing to the cultural and artistic development of the local community.

His commitment to public service extended to local governance, where Smith served as a councillor on Hammersmith and Fulham Council from May 2006 to May 2018. During this period, he held the significant role of deputy leader of the council. In 2014, despite the Conservatives losing control to Labour in the local elections, Smith took on the leadership of the Conservative group. His impactful leadership continued until he chose to step down from the council during the 2018 elections.

Greg Smith’s political aspirations expanded to the national stage when he ran as the Conservative candidate for the Hayes and Harlington constituency in the 2017 general election. Despite the historical dominance of the Labour Party in the area, Smith campaigned vigorously, securing 28.6% of the vote but ultimately falling short to John McDonnell.

In a noteworthy development in October 2019, Smith emerged as the Conservative candidate for the Buckingham constituency. This announcement followed the decision of the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, to step down at the end of October. Bercow, initially elected as a Conservative and representing Buckingham since 1997, paved the way for Greg Smith to enter the national political arena with the aim of making meaningful contributions.
