In Memoriam: Philadelphia Eagles Icon Leo Carlin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Carlin, a revered figure in the sports ticketing industry and a distinguished member of the Philadelphia Eagles organization for 55 years. Leo Carlin, who holds a well-deserved place in the team’s Hall of Fame, peacefully left us on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the age of 86.

A cherished colleague shared, “For many years, when Fred supplied cars to the Phil Eagles, I had the pleasure of handling all the car deals. Among the many wonderful individuals I encountered, Leo Carlin stood out as my favorite. Learning of his passing today is a sad moment for me. He was the nicest and best guy. God bless him.”

Leo Carlin’s Personal Life
Born on September 16, 1937, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Leo Carlin graduated from St. Joseph’s Prep High School and St. Joseph’s University. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he shared his life with his wife, Kay, and their seven children and 22 grandchildren.

Career Highlights
Leo Carlin began his journey with the Eagles as a part-time member of the ticketing department for the 1960 NFL Championship Team, later transitioning to a full-time role in the front office in 1964. He played a pivotal role in the team’s relocations, from Franklin Field to Veterans Stadium in 1971 and later from Veterans Stadium to Lincoln Financial Field in 2003.

In 2007, Carlin received a nomination for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, recognizing his contributions to integrating ticketing with computer data processing, a groundbreaking achievement for the Eagles.

Services for Leo Carlin
Friends, family, and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects at a public viewing on Thursday, January 25, from 5-8 PM at D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall (2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, Pa.). Additionally, there will be a viewing on Friday, January 26, from 9-10:30 AM, followed by a funeral mass at St. John Neumann Parish on 380 Highland Lane in Bryn Mawr, Pa.
