Seth Feyerherm Obituary – Death: 17-year-old Omaha boy dies, Cause Of Death

A 17-year-old boy tragically lost his life after colliding with an ambulance while driving a van last week.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene of a three-vehicle crash near 204th and Harrison streets, which involved an ambulance from Gretna Fire & Rescue.

Seth Fereherm of Omaha succumbed to his injuries, as reported by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in a news release on Wednesday. He had been receiving treatment for serious head injuries at a local hospital.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:16 a.m. on December 21 at the intersection of 204th and Harrison streets, just north of Gretna.

According to the ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, the collision transpired when Fereherm attempted to make a left turn from southbound 204th Street onto eastbound Harrison Street at a traffic light, driving a Toyota Tundra.

As the turn was attempted, a Gretna Fire & Rescue ambulance, with its lights and siren activated, was traveling northbound on 204th Street through the intersection when it collided with the pickup truck. The ambulance was en route to the hospital with 72-year-old Debra Brookhouser, a resident of Gretna, who unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Three Gretna Volunteer Fire Department firefighters/paramedics were in the ambulance and sustained injuries in the crash.

Two of them were treated and released from the hospital, while the third first responder sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
