Victim Identified: Noé Bafania Killed Wife Beatrice And Four Children On Christmas Day And Boxing Day, Cause Of Death

A tragic incident unfolded on Christmas Day in the Paris commuter town of Meaux, where Noé Bafania, a 33-year-old Frenchman of Haitian background, is in custody following the alleged stabbing of his wife Beatrice, 35, and their four children, aged 10, seven, four, and nine months. Shockingly, it has been revealed that Bafania had previously attacked his wife with a knife four years ago but avoided charges due to his psychological state.

The devastating event came to light when a neighbour discovered the lifeless bodies after seeing blood on the front door handle of the family’s flat on Christmas Day. The suspect is accused of using a knife to fatally attack three family members and either suffocating or drowning the youngest children. Bafania, known for his history of domestic violence, was captured on CCTV leaving the home before eventually being apprehended.

In November 2019, Bafania had previously stabbed his wife, resulting in injuries that left her unable to work for at least five days. At that time, he locked the family inside their flat, citing his depression. Despite being briefly detained by the police, the case against him was dropped in January 2020 due to his poor psychological state.

While facing the possibility of life imprisonment, Bafania’s mental health may render him unfit for trial. The heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock, with a neighbour describing Beatrice as a kind and jovial woman who lived for her family. The tragedy underscores the complexities surrounding cases involving mental health and domestic violence, raising important questions about the adequacy of existing legal frameworks.
